Okatsune 207 are heavy duty but lightweight thinning shears. The pointed razor-sharp blades with their thickness of 3.3mm are strong enough to cut small branches, and at the same time thin enough to penetrate deep into the bush. This allows you to simply make a clean cut at the most difficult places to reach, without damaging surrounding stems. These shears are also perfect for all the maintenance on your bonsai, like candle pruning, style pruning and maintenance pruning. In addition, these shears are suitable for cutting flowers because of the razor-sharp and pointed beak.
The Okatsune 304 is a very light and razor-sharp floral thinning secateur with a long blade (45mm) specially designed for picking flowers, herbs and deadheading. The pointed, extremely thin blades ensure that you can reach even the tightest spaces. The Okatsune 304 is not suitable for cutting hard, woody stems. For this purpose you can use the Okatsune 307. Okatsune thinning secateurs are the undisputed number 1 in Japan, the country where its use has been elevated to an art form.
The Okatsune 307 are very light and razor-sharp thinning secateurs with ashort blade (10mm shorter than the 304). The secateurs have been specially designed to cut through harder (woody) stems as in the cutting, harvesting, and thinning of vegetables, and fruit. The pointed, extremely thin blades ensure that you can reach even the tightest spaces, such as thinning of grapes, pears, or apples.
The blade has been grinded in two angles, so it will also smoothly cut through wood, and will not unnecessarily damage the plant. Due to the unique shape of the hollow ground blade the sap flows away from the blade, and the blades will not come apart. The V-shape of the spring ensures that the cutting load is distributed evenly over the length of the spring which guarantees a smooth closing.
The shears are constructed from a few components, so that there is hardly any maintenance required. It is recommended to clean the blades after use. After cleaning it is recommended to oil the shears, and store moisture free with the cutting blades closed. If you notice that the shears are cutting less well, you can grind them using the Okatsune whetstone.
