Gun-Fighter

This iconic saw has a slightly curved blade with progressive teeth from 8.5 to 6 teeth per 30 mm. Progressive teeth help you to make the first cut into the wood with the finer teeth close to the handle and larger teeth at the end of the blade to saw at full speed.

The revolver grip gives a great feeling while sawing. The steel is covered with GOM-rubber to reduce vibrations and provide a superior grip that always feels warm, even in cold and wet conditions.

An easy-grip rubberised handle with lightweight aluminium chassis gives a very good grip in wetter conditions. It also serves to absorb some of the vibrations created when cutting.

There are 3 blade lengths available in the Gun-Fighter series: 270, 300 and 330 mm. Choose the blade length that is maximum double the diameter of the branches that you want to saw. Scabbard included.

Silky Saws are traditional Japanese pruning saws and as such are designed to cut on the pull stroke. The blade will be under tension on the cutting stroke and will not be able to bow.

Let the saw do the work.

Never force the blade on the push stroke as you will be pushing against the direction of the teeth. Carefully take the pressure off the blade in order to release the saw.

Generally you should experience fewer vibrations and use less effort enabling longer work and improved productivity.

The saw should be stored in the closed position and cleaned of any debris/dirt to ensure a smooth opening operation. Ideally the blade should be cleaned with a solvent being careful to keep it away from the handle - this will help prolong its useful life. Store away from moisture.

WARNING. NEVER CUT DIRECTLY ABOVE YOUR HEAD. Always consider where the falling branches will land on the ground. We strongly recommend the use of protective hard hats and glasses.

WARNING. Silky Saws are extremely sharp so please be careful when using and keep away from children.

MANUFACTURER WARNING. Incorrect use of a Silky Saw may cause injury. Silky, its affiliates, subsidiaries, importers, distributors and dealers are not responsible for and shall not be liable for any fatality, injury, loss, or damage resulting from the use of its products.

Silky Saws are manufactured from SK-4 carbon steel and cut out by a laser. The teeth are designed with no set which means they are formed inside the width of the blade - this reduces friction and enables a cleaner, faster and easier cut. Many other saws have teeth formed to project outside the width of the blade requiring much greater effort when sawing.

The manufacturing process also uses the technique of high-frequency electro-impulse hardening during which the teeth are heated and hardened. Importantly, only the teeth are hardened, not the rest of the blade. Thus the blade retains its original flexibility whilst the teeth have a life which is up to 3 times longer than that on standard saws.

The blades are nickel coated. The advantage of nickel is that this material pours well into the edges. Therefore, the nickel coating is equal all over the blade and that ensures a smooth surface and less material wastage. The nickel plating is applied after the teeth are ground into the blade. In doing so, the teeth will remain sharp for a long time and are protected against rust.

Almost all Silky saws are fitted with a specially designed rubber 'Gom' handle which reduces vibration and improves grip, reducing the danger of slipping in wet conditions.
